Dumbots is a free robot tactics game at dumbotsgame.app. It has no ads and no cookies that follow you around, and we never sell or share your data with advertisers. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you. This page says what we store, why, and how to have it deleted.
What we store
- A player ID. When you play online, or finish a game that goes into your history, your browser gets an anonymous account (a random ID, no name or email) so the server knows which games are yours.
- Your Google name, email address and profile picture, only if you choose to sign in with Google. We use them to sign you in, to show your name in your games, stats and shared replays, and to contact you about your account if we must.
- Your games. Online matches (the map, both teams, every turn's orders and results) so they can be played over hours or days, plus match stats and any replays you share.
- Your game history. Every game you finish (online, against the computer, or pass & play): who played, how it went, its stats, and the replay of your newest 100 games, so My games can show your record and let you watch them again. Only you can see it.
- Notifications, only if you turn them on: the address your browser gives us to send "your turn" alerts to.
- On your device: your settings, and games against the computer and pass & play games while they're being played, are kept in your browser's storage. A finished game is sent to your game history; nothing else leaves your device unless you share a replay.
Who handles it
- Supabase runs our database, sign-in and game server. Your account and games are stored there.
- Netlify hosts the website. Like any web host it sees your IP address and browser when you load a page, in its short-lived logs.
- Google, only if you sign in with Google, under Google's own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare counts page visits (Web Analytics: the page, where you came from, your browser and country, no cookies and no ID that follows you), and runs a check that you are not a bot when your browser first gets a player ID (Turnstile). Neither is used for ads.
- Sentry receives a report when the game crashes in your browser: the error, the page (without its link details), your browser and the game's version. No name, account or game data. We use it only to fix bugs.
How long we keep it
- Online games are deleted 7 days after their last turn (24 hours if nobody joined), once they're in their players' histories (at most 14 days).
- Shared replays are deleted 30 days after the match ended.
- Your game history stays until you delete your account (only your newest 100 games keep their replay, up to 8 MB of replays). When you delete your account, other players' histories show you as "Deleted player".
- Notification addresses are forgotten after 60 days without use.
- Daily counts of the games you start and upload (to stop abuse) are deleted after two days.
- A player ID that hasn't been used for 90 days, and was never signed in with Google, is deleted with everything kept for it.
- Error reports are deleted by Sentry after 90 days at most.
- Your account stays until you delete it (or ask us to).
Your choices
You can play without signing in, and without notifications. Signed in, you can change your name or delete your account yourself in the game's Account panel (tap your name on the home screen). To see, correct or delete anything else we hold about you, email help@dumbotsgame.app. We'll do it within 30 days.
Children
Dumbots is for everyone, but signing in with Google is only for people old enough to have their own Google account. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date. Questions: help@dumbotsgame.app.
